Directors

Directors are the cornerstone of any Model UN experience. They play a pivotal role in ensuring that committees run smoothly and effectively. In conjunction with their committee roles, directors also hold an important leadership position at the conference, helping delegates find social venues and assisting the Secretariat with various administrative duties. If you want to be part of a unique leadership experience then directing at AMUNC is for you.

Applications to direct are now closed.

Special Committees

Special committees offer seasoned delegates the most dynamic (and often chaotic) experiences of the conference, simulating the real (and fake) international bodies that deal with humanity’s most important and pressing issues.

AMUNC2012′s special committees include:

  1. International Criminal Court
  2. International Court of Justice
  3. International Law Commission
  4. Security Council
  5. Crisis Council
  6. Special Management Committee

Meanwhile, for delegates who want to participate in multiple committees, the International Press Gallery and NGO Programme offer a unique opportunity to get out and about and cause as much havoc as possible.

Special committee applications are now closed.

Delegations

Most students who attend AMUNC come as a member of a delegation. A delegation can be formed by anyone to represent a university, state or even country. Delegations form the core of attendance of AMUNC2012. They allow delegates to come to AMUNC with a sense of community and with a greater feeling of representation of their university. Forming delegations also allows delegates to recruit students from their university to join in the AMUNC experience!

Delegations are registered by a head delegate (chosen by the relevant university society or organisation). The head delegate registers for a number of places for their university/state/country and then recruits the individual delegates themselves. For many students wishing to attend AMUNC, contacting the head delegate from their university will be the easiest way to learn more about how to apply. If students wishing to attend AMUNC find that there is no delegation from their university, they are encouraged to contact the secretariat and form their own.

Please see our list of registered delegations and contact the head delegate for more information. If your institution is not represented, you can still apply as an individual delegate closer to the conference.
