Equity Scholarship

After listening to various enquiries and concerns from international applicants, we have become aware that many of you face a number of obstacles in attending this conference. Many applicants have found the financial costs of attending the conference to be prohibitive. The AMUNC Secretariat certainly understands that there is a huge financial burden in attending this conference. With the recent increase in the value of the Australian dollar it has now become expensive to travel to Australia and stay here for the duration of the conference.

As a result, we have put together the AMUNC Equity Scholarship. Through the fund, AMUNC2012 will provide partial reimbursement for the conference registration fees for selected delegates and directors:

  • This fund is designed to help both directors and delegates from outside of Australia.
  • The fund is targeted towards those applicants from countries which face particularly difficult financial conditions and steep exchange rates with the current Australian dollar.
  • Applicants will still need to pay the full conference fee first.
  • Those who are selected to receive the fund will receive a 60% reimbursement of the conference registration fee after attending the conference.

The AMUNC Equity Scholarship will only provide a partial reimbursement for conference fees. Due to budget constraints we cannot provide this scholarship to every delegate that applies.

Please note: flights, accommodation, visa, transport and food costs will not be covered by the AMUNC Equity Scholarship and remain the responsibility of AMUNC participants. Due to budgetary constrains, we are only able to provide limited numbers of applicants with this reimbursement. Special consideration will be given to those applicants who demonstrate particularly difficult financial conditions.
