Volunteers
What is AMUNC?
The Asia-Pacific Model UN Conference is the premier regional Model UN for tertiary students in the Australasian region. Drawing over 600 university students, the conference features a fantastic array of committees, simulations and social events, in addition to a stimulating guest speaker program and careers fair. You can find out more by browsing this website.
What is the AMUNC volunteer program?
The AMUNC volunteer program is open to students of the University of Sydney. As a volunteer, you will be in contact with over 500 students from all over the Asia-Pacific who have a shared commitment to peace, human rights and sustainable development. You will also have the chance to meet numerous guest speakers during the conference events.
What will I do as a volunteer?
AMUNC volunteers will be assigned a number of tasks over the conference week. This ranges from administrative duties, assisting delegates, to supporting conference events.
As a volunteer you will be considered a key part of the AMUNC host team. We will provide you with full training and support, and any other assistance you might need.
What are the commitments?
AMUNC volunteers will have to be available for a few days in late June for training, pre-Conference support, and during the week of the Conference.
Why should I volunteer?
- Be part of the running of an enormous event endorsed by the University
- A great chance to use your knowledge of the University
- Meet students from across faculties, interstate and overseas
- Gain teamwork and organisational skills
- The personal satisfaction of helping others and contribute to the University, by showing people around the campus, or assist anyone in general that may need your help
- Attain a volunteer certificate
How do I get involved?
Volunteer registration has closed and we thank you all those who have expressed their interest. If you have any further queries, please email Cathy, our Volunteers Coordinator, at logistics.deputy@amunc.net.
